"Closer to the Heart:A CFFO Vision for Farming"
This is a CFFO document released November 28, 2002 at the CFFO Annual Convention. Offering a new vision for farming in Ontario , the document is the result of four years of discussions.
The vision contains three parts.
First part: Encompasses the values, desires, characteristics and qualities regarding the type of farming that the CFFO would like to establish in Ontario .
Second part: Describes the abiding principles that governments, farmers and the public need to uphold for sustaining a type of agriculture that undergirds moderate-sized, family farms.
Third part: Provides a list of concrete recommendations for creating immediate action towards a type of agriculture reflecting the heartfelt qualities of Ontario 's farmers.
Our hope and prayer within the CFFO is that this vision for farming strikes a chord within you. If you agree with our vision, please join us in our quest. Together, we can all work towards the creation of an agriculture that is truly "closer to the heart." May our Lord bless you as you embark on this journey.

The Odyssey Report
An industry quest for solutions
Released September 9, 2002 by the Agricultural Odyssey Group
In October 2001, a delegation of nine members of the Odyssey Group toured seven European countries to gather information from farm organizations, government officials, agricultural business, and academics.
The report addresses the need for some long-term political and public policy initiatives to ensure that consumers have a food system in which they can be confident.
