Even though it seems that the provincial government calls the shots, municipal councils do in fact make decisions that affect you at home. Learn what the candidate’s, including the mayoral candidate’s, opinion is on land use, growth and development, how they will manage agricultural areas.

Let us celebrate the freedom we have in our country. Canada is known for many nationalities coming together here to live, a place where there is no hostility between others. Our history reflects that; here is a place of opportunity.

It's all too common to hear misconceptions, such as the notion that food comes solely from grocery stores, rather than farms.

As tractors roll across fields this spring, may every pass be a reminder that God remains faithful.

Our Provincial Agriculture Minister must take an active role in ensuring that these lands remain dedicated to agricultural use.

We can do much better, the government can do much better

Is it fair to say that winter is the most talked-about season, yet often the least enjoyed?

Both crop producers and herbicide manufacturers must draw lessons from this experience. Overuse carries consequences, but so does failing to address public concerns when they arise.

The room was alive with the energy of members and partners gathering together, enjoying meaningful discussions, delicious food, and uplifting entertainment.

Till we learn how compensation will be given for expropriated land and how the interrupted roads will be rerouted and communities are dealt with for lost access, CFFO cannot give full support to this project. But we also can see the value for Ontario should this project go ahead and so we “sit on the rail” with this issue. Perhaps there are still some alternate routes to consider that would stay away from farmland.

Why Showing Up Matters

Farming can be a lonely job. Many days are spent working on your own, focused on the land, the animals, and the long list of things that need to get done. That’s why taking the time to attend local Annual General Meetings and farm shows really matters.

As we enter this sacred and beautiful season, we pause to reflect on the miracle at the heart of Christmas—the moment when God stepped into our world in the humblest of ways.

Giving Back : There are many times during the growing season when we travel across the province.
And yes—let me say clearly—I do keep my eyes on the road.
But even so, we can’t help but notice the many signs posted in farmers’ fields, often right along the roadside.
