Farm Groups and the Fertilizer Industry Call on Government to Support Farmers After Impact of Russian Tariffs

The CFFO joins other farm groups and the fertilizer sector in requesting compensation for farmers negatively impacted by the 35 percent federal tariff on Russian fertilizer. Canada is the only G7 country to impose a tariff on fertilizer. This is putting eastern Canadian farmers, who currently source 85-90 percent of fertilizer from Russia, at a competitive disadvantage.
