This April the CFFO submitted comments to the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO), in response to their consultation on proposed “Veterinary Regulatory Concepts.” This consultation was part of the process building to implementation of the new Veterinary Professionals Act.

The CFFO recommendations included that regulations make clear that authorized activities continue to be permitted when performed by veterinary professionals on-farm. CFFO also raised concerns that rural veterinarians should have fair access to training and peer assessments under proposed requirements for quality assurance.
